This piece is a multidisciplinary work involving piano, voice, movement, and fixed media. It explores the interaction with-and glorification of-everyday objects, creating ritual through sound, gesture, and attention.
The performer will work from graphic and text-based scores as a means of exploring sound and movement improvisation alongside a fixed media track. On the following page, an arc of the piece is provided, including approximate time stamps and principal events, serving as a roadmap for the work.
This work makes extensive use of graphic, text, and cellular notation. It is essential to understand
that the piece benefits greatly from the performer’s interpretation. All notated material should be treated as malleable information rather than fixed instruction.
The written material functions as a departure point. Embellishments, variations, and interpretive decisions are not only permitted but highly encouraged.
