Danse Triste (Sad Dance) is dedicated to the memory of Armenian composer Edvard Mirzoyan (1921-2012) and is written in commemoration of his 100th birthday anniversary. The inspiration behind the piece is Mirzoyan's well-known "Sad Waltz" for piano from his Album "For My Granddaughter."
Flores de Esperanza (Flowers of Hope) was written in spring 2020, during COVID-19 lockdown. In that sad and troubling time, the blooming lilacs of our garden gave me inspiration and hope.
Qertsi is inspired by an old Armenian martial, saber dance Qertsi which is danced under Armenian traditional instruments Dhol (percussion) and Zurna (woodwind).
