Canto de la ave rapiega - The chant of the bird of prey

Birds of prey do not sing.
They utter themselves wildly, apprehensively, solitarily.
But those who manage to intuit their inner voice
become mesmerized with that chant.
The Spanish musical idiom was not a random choice.
The poetics of contrast - life and death, fire and cold, intense and passionate -
constitute a metaphysical plateau from which we can observe our essence
through the eye of the sky traveler.
